FALL RIVER HOUSING AUTHORITY REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Fall River Housing Authority is seeking proposals for comprehensive extermination and pest management control services for approximately 2,443 public housing units scattered throughout 22 developments -- 1,322 units of family housing and 1,121 units of elderly/disabled housing. These pest management control services are to begin on April 1, 1999 for a twenty-four (24) month period, terminating on March 31, 2001. The goal of this effort is to provide pest-free housing for the Authority by having the successful vendor provide us with a professionally trained, bonded and licensed pest control technician for a minimum of thirty-five (35) hours per week and dedicated to the elimination and control of pests. This licensed and bonded technician will be in company uniform and carry proper identification. The scope of service will include: 1. Developing and delivering a professionally-designed integrated pest management program which will encompass a variety of non-chemical and chemical controls. This program will utilize Avert and Blue Diamond Magnetic Cockroach Bait (or comparable), as the primary means to control cockroaches. 2. Providing professionally training, bonded and licensed pest control technician for a minimum of thirty-five (35) hours per week and dedicated to the control of pests at all Authority facilities. 3. Providing all of the equipment necessary to properly and successfully perform the work. This would include all tools, chemicals, supplies and a clearly identifiable company vehicle. 4. Providing sanitation and pest control informational flyers for distribution to public housing residents. 5. Providing preventative educational pest management control education and seminars to groups of public housing residents and staff. Major selection criteria will include: Demonstrated success in pest elimination and control in similar housing developments, especially public housing; presentation of an effective comprehensive extermination and prevention system -- including plans for exterminating newly housed residents, seriously problematic apartments and areas, and system for planned and preventative approach to pest control; prior successful experience with Avert and Blue Diamond Magnetic Cockroach Bait, or comparable.
