Oh, so close for Dartmouth girls
STAFF REPORT
Despite dropping two close games to lose to Bishop Feehan, Dartmouth girls volleyball coach Rochelle Gaydou was all smiles.
"It was an absolute heartbreaker, but this will make us stronger later in the season," said Gaydou.
In the first of three barnburners, game one ended in defeat, 30-28, for Dartmouth (2-2). Lauren Moses finished the match with six service points and three aces, while Tabatha Cardoso contributed five service points and four aces. Kayla Rodriques also notched seven assists.
Dartmouth pulled out all the stops for the second game and triumphed 30-28 behind Rodriques' 13 assists and Kate Souza's six spikes.
With their backs to the wall, the Indians failed to win the deciding match 30-27. Rachel Lassey finished with eight digs and six service points, while Erin O'Neil hammered down six spikes for the Indians.
"What I liked most was that the girls stayed aggressive. They are working together real well," said Dartmouth coach Rochelle Gaydou.
Dartmouth (2-2) travels to Attleboro on Thursday.
