SeeFest makes most of Last Chance
Ira Perry and his crew aboard SeeFest captured the John B. O'Toole Trophy for finishing first overall in the Fort Rodman Marine Association/Low Tide Yacht Club Last Chance Regatta, raced Saturday, Sept. 28, outside New Bedford Harbor.
SeeFest, competing in the Racing (spinnaker) class, finished ahead of Mark Thornhill in Pieces of Eight and Ryan Walsh in Makin' Progress, both competing in the Cruising (non-spinnaker) class.

YEAR-END BUSINESS
Area yacht clubs are wrapping up the season with plans for their annual meetings and awards nights.
The FRMEA/LTYC holds its annual meeting Saturday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at the club's new building at the Fort Taber complex in New Bedford's South End.
The club's annual awards night is scheduled for the following Saturday, Oct. 26, also at the Fort Taber building.
The Mattapoisett Yacht Club plans its annual dinner, awards night and election of flag officers at the Century House on Saturday, Nov. 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This marks a change from the original date of Oct. 19. Contact Commodore Fran Grenon at Mattapoisettyc@attbi.com for more information.
The New Bedford Yacht Club has scheduled its annual awards night and banquet for Friday, Nov. 1. The NBYC holds its annual meeting on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Beverly Yacht Club in Marion plans a lobster dinner at the club this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $22 per person, and you can make reservations by contacting the BYC office at 508-748-0540.
The BYC annual meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the club on Water Street. Contact the club for more information.
IN-WATER BOAT SHOW
The fourth annual Boston International In-Water Boat Show is what's happening today through Sunday at the World Trade Center in South Boston.
Each day's events begin at 10 a.m. and last until 9 p.m. and include displays of hundreds of boats at slips on the water as well as indoor demonstrations and displays at the WTC.
Cost is $12 per day per adult, $5 per day per child under 12, and children under 6 can attend free. A 6-9 p.m. adult admission to the indoor portion of the show only costs $6. Admission to the docks and outdoor portion of the show closes at 6 p.m. each day.
This year, the Boston Boat Show features a beer and food garden in the clinic area as well as the touring exhibit from Bombardier, manufacturer of Evinrude and Johnson outboard motors. More than 200 boats are displayed in the water at the World Trade Center docks, and 300 exhibits are featured indoors, including 100 exhibits featuring electronics, accessories and financing options.
Clinics scheduled as part of the show include: Friday, 12:30 p.m., Basic Chart Navigation; 3 p.m. Ask Cap'n Drew, nautical comedy act; 5 p.m. Yacht Chartering. Saturday, 12:30 p.m. Ask Cap'n Drew; 3 p.m. Yacht Chartering; 5 p.m. Getting Your Captain's License; 7 p.m. Ask Cap'n Drew.
Sunday, 10:30 a.m. Yacht Chartering; 12:30 p.m. Using a GPS and Chartplotters in Navigation; 2 p.m., U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; 3:30 p.m. Ask Cap'n Drew.
