Classic holiday tale wraps Little Theatre's Firebarn season

"A Wonderful Life," a musical based on the classic holiday movie, "It's A Wonderful Life," will conclude Little Theatre's Firebarn series. The production will be presented at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, and Dec. 6-8, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9.
All performances will be at the Firebarn, Little Theatre's home at Prospect Street and Highland Avenue in Fall River.

The Frank Capra film has been brought to vibrant theatrical life through the remarkable collaboration of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner Sheldon Harnick's book and lyrics, and the music of Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Joe Raposo, a Fall River native.
Mr. Raposo is best known for his work on "Sesame Street," as well as writing the theme to the television show "Three's Company" and the song "Sing" for The Carpenters.
The story of George Bailey and his wonderful life in Bedford Falls remains a timeless fable of dreams, disillusionment and the power of love. An uplifting chronicle of the extraordinary lives of ordinary folk, "A Wonderful Life" exhilarates the mind and heart as it celebrates the innate goodness in us all.
Jeff Belanger directs and choreographs the production. Musical director is Al Deston, with Kathy Castro handling stage manager duties. Mr. Belanger recently directed the Little Theatre's critically acclaimed production of "Jesus Christ Superstar." His other directorial credits include "The King and I," "Oliver!" "Singin' in the Rain," and "La Cage Aux Folles."
The Little Theatre production features David Faria as George Bailey, Vanessa Raposa as Mary Bailey, Ron Robinson as the Angel Clarence and Roger Belanger as Mr. Potter.
Included in the "Wonderful Life" ensemble are Bonnie Cade, Steven Wrobleski, Frank Camera, Joseph Luca, Peggy Deston, Beverly Robinson, Maryann Goulart, Heidi Garcia, Andrew Correia, Kelsie Brejcha, Erin Cote. Paige Mercer makes her debut as Zuzu.
The Chicago Tribune said that this musical "strikes the same chord of essential humanity that has made the film an American classic."
The Dec. 2 and 8 performances are sold out, with limited seats remaining for tomorrow and Dec. 7.
Single tickets are $12 for "A Wonderful Life." Discounts are available for students, seniors and groups of 20 or more. For reservations and information, call the Little Theatre box office at (508) 675-1852.
